My favorite gardens: The Skidmore Community gardens are composed of 24 raised plots filled with compost -perfect for organic gardening 🙂 and learning about food sustainability. As a raspberry on the cake, we also have a large central plot with strawberries and raspberries – yum, yum, and yum.Â
According to what I heard (please, correct me if I’m wrong), Skidmore Park has been created in 1883 by a realty dealer (Edwin T. Skidmore), certainly in accordance with the contract with the city of St. Paul, MN. The park wasn’t used much until a group of volunteers worked with St. Paul Park around 2009 to create our beautiful community gardens.Â
You may have to request a plot for next season on a first come, first serve basis!
